How a repair works

  1. Call us

Describe what's happening. Some problems we can solve right there, or over a remote session.

  2. Diagnose

We find the actual cause, not just the symptom, and protect your data first.

  3. Quote

You hear what's wrong, the price and whether a repair makes sense versus replacing. Nothing happens without your OK.

  4. Fix and hand back

We repair, test, and explain what we did and how to avoid a repeat.

Find out what we'd fix first

A free assessment looks at your computers, network, email and backups, and tells you plainly what needs attention.

Common problems we see every week

  • "It's gotten so slow." Usually an old spinning hard drive, a full disk or years of startup clutter. An SSD upgrade often makes an older computer feel new.
  • Blue screens, freezing, or restarting on its own.
  • Won't turn on, won't charge, or turns on with a black screen.
  • A pop-up says you're infected and to call a number. Don't. Call us instead. See virus removal.
  • Clicking or grinding noises. Turn it off now and read what to do next.
  • Moving everything from an old computer to a new one, including email, files, passwords and printers.
  • Printers and scanners that stopped working after an update.

Repair is part of our managed IT service. We repair computers for businesses on a managed IT plan, and we no longer take one-off repairs for home users. Clients: call (843) 422-2201 and we'll fix it over a remote session or on site.

Repairs for the offices we look after

Repair used to be most of what we did. Today it's part of managed IT: with monitoring on every computer, failing drives and overheating show up on our screen before they become a lost day, and when something does break, the fix is already covered by the team that knows your setup.

Questions we get

Do you still repair computers for home users?

No. Computer repair is now a service for businesses on our managed IT plans, so it's handled as part of looking after your office.

How long will it take?

Many software problems are fixed the same day. Repairs that need parts depend on how fast the part arrives; we'll give you an honest estimate up front.

Will I lose my files?

We protect your data before doing anything that could affect it. If the drive itself is failing, we'll talk about data recovery first.

Do you fix Macs?

Yes. See our Mac repair page. If your Mac is still under Apple warranty or AppleCare, we'll tell you so you can use it first.

Tell us what's going on.

Call, or send a few lines about your business or your computer. You'll hear back from a person who can actually fix it.
